Abstract Preparation, Submission and Selection

Writing the abstract:

  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.

  • The abstract should be no longer than 250 words, excluding title and address details.

  • Use Times New Roman font, size 12, single spaced, numerals to indicate numbers, except when beginning sentences. Symbol font will be used when required (e.g. for fibrinogen chains)

  • Justify text on both sides.

  • One or two objects (defined as a table or a graph or a figure) may be included at the end of the text, but the total abstract must not exceed one page.

  • The abstract may be structured (with sections like Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Conclusions, or Object of the study, Design, Results, Conclusion, or Background, Aim, etc…), or not.

  • Title should be written in bold non-capitalized letters and be less than 150 characters, spaces included.

  • Authors’ names should be provided after the title in the format M. Malpighi, R. L. C. Virchow, O. Hammarsten, … with the presenting author underlined.

  • Name, address, institution, country, phone number, and e-mail address of the corresponding author should be provided at the end of the abstract, and may be in smaller font.

  • All students and post-docs are strongly encouraged to apply for a $400 Outstanding Abstract Award.  Getting such an award will reduce the registration cost by $400.  Simply state at the bottom of your abstract that you would like to apply for the Outstanding Abstract Award.  Abstracts with this statement will be evaluated by the awards committee.  We will able to make several awards.  The goal is to attract and reward outstanding student and post-doctoral researchers, and allow them to attend the workshop at a much reduced registration rate.

    Submitting the abstract:

  • No revisions can be made after the abstract submission deadline.

  • There is no handling fee for submitting an abstract.

  • Authors are required to e-mail their abstract(s) as an attached Word or RTF file and a PDF file to the conference e-mail address Files should be named as IFRS2018_XXX., where XXX stands for the first author's last name (like IFRS2018_Malpighi.doc and IFRS2018_ Malpighi.pdf).

  • The submission email should preferentially be sent using the corresponding author e-mail address provided on the abstract. If not, the corresponding author should be included in the e-mail as receiving a C-copy of the submitted abstract.

  • Deadline for abstract submission has been extended to February 16, 2018.

    Selection process:

  • Abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee and selected as oral or poster communications.

  • Acceptance of the abstract will be communicated to the corresponding author by email before March 1, 2018.

  • The specific session category will be determined at the end of the abstract submission process.
